Our Afternoon & High Teas are served in our Gold & Mirror rooms from 12-5pm on Mondays to Sundays, with the last reservations at 4 pm. If you would like to book for drinks only please choose the Bar, the Garden, or the Arbour. Please note that we offer Vegetarian options, however a Gluten Free or Vegan option requires 48 hours' notice. For other dietary needs, please get in contact with us and we will do our best to accommodate if it is at all possible, Should you wish to have a Celebration Cake, please call us at least 72hrs prior to your reservation and we would be delighted to make it for you.



Our dress code is smart-casual and quite relaxed. We just ask that the general look does not appear too sporty i.e. tracksuits/football shirts/baseball caps. Smart trainers are allowed.



We have spaces for four vehicles in our secure car park which are reserved for staying guests. There is normally plenty of parking spaces along West Avenue or the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend the use of private or local taxis or public transport. 



At the present we offer lunch and dinner on special request. On Restaurant bookings, we currently have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Failure to cancel before the 24 hour deadline will result in an automatic cancellation of the booking and an automatic charge of £25 per person in the booking.

On Room bookings, we currently have a 72-hour cancellation policy, Failure to cancel before the 72 hour deadline will result in an automatic cancellation of the booking and an automatic charge for the first night of stay. With this in mind, we do strongly suggest that you take out holiday insurance.

On Experience the South All-inclusive tour packages, payment for the full stay is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation and to allow us to make all the necessary preparations for your experience. Payment is non-refundable and non-transferable. With this in mind, it may be advisable to take out holiday insurance.

We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards.



We aim to preserve an appropriate balance between the maintenance of a relaxed and convivial environment for dining in our dining rooms with the need to make sufficient provision for guests to communicate by electronic means for social and business purposes. The use of electronic devices should always be conducted in a manner that shows consideration to other guests.

  • In the Mirror & the Gold rooms, please always remain mindful of other diners.

  • If you need to take a mobile call, please do so outside of the dining rooms. 

  • Laptops or other larger devices with keyboards are only to be used in the Chalet and the bar.

Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside the house, in the garden, under the arbour, in the chalet or in the bar.

We have a designated smoking area which is in the car park by the bicycle cabin. 



We love children and they are our future, however supervision under parental control is always necessary and appreciated.
Children over the age of 10 are to adhere to the dress code. Children under the age of 10 are not permitted in the Bar, the Gold or the Mirror rooms, except for breakfast and special private events, parties and celebrations. This is for their safety and the enjoyment of other diners.

Children of all ages are welcome in the Chalet, the Garden and under the Arbour with supervision under parental control. 

Please always remain mindful of other fellow diners and guests.

We are situated in a residential area. Our garden and Arbour seating is closed at 21:00 promptly. Please remain considerate of our neighbours when leaving our premises. We are happy to call for a taxi for you and you are welcome to stay until their arrival.



The Garden, under the Arbour seating is available from 11:00 to 21:00. You are at the mercy of the trusted British weather. If the weather changes, we cannot guarantee inside seating, due to availability, however, we will definitely do our best to re-seat you if at all possible.  Please note smoking is not permitted in this area. See our smoking policy above.



How to reach Orchid House in Worthing: If you are planning on visiting by car or on foot, please use what3words ///stow.saving.sweep. The house is on the corner of Mill Road & West Avenue. Please use the northerly gates on West Avenue. As it is a gated premises, please ring the door bell and the gates will be opened for you. Follow the arrow signs in the garden round to the reception which is through the red door.

By bus, Pulse and 700 stop approximately 2 minutes away.

By train, West Worthing train station is approximately 7 minutes' walk from us.

By air, Shoreham Airport is approximately 30 minutes away, Gatwick Airport is 40 minutes away and Heathrow Airport is 1 hour and 30 minutes away.

We love to welcome all our guests and strive to ensure the house is accessible to everybody.

The entrance gate is wide enough for wheelchair access and the paving slopes towards the main entrance. There is a ramp available to enter the house.
Our Gold room, Mirror room, the Bar, the garden, under the Arbour and the Chalet are all accessible for wheelchair users. 
We have a wheelchair accessible toilet near the bar which has an emergency pull cord, handrails, and low level basin. This toilet is also usable by able-bodied guests.

We do not permit dogs in our premises, including the garden, Please note we only permit guide dogs into the property.
